1- Waist Size Measurement

In utility-style kilt, the waistband is very important. It is not in the same measurement as the kilt waist. The waistband of the utility kilt is the waist size + 1 inch. It is the general rule of a waist band.
Attaching the buttons & studs
Now you have a waistband, but you must attach buttons on the waistband as it is the necessary part of the utility kilt. The buttons are used to fasten the kilt. These buttons are sewn with the help of sewing machines. The buttons must be attached at the start of the waistband. General two to four buttons are attached to the waist but it depends on the kilt wearer.
Making the belt loop
The utility style kilt has 6 to 8 belt loops of different sizes. Normally 1 inch to 1/2 inch wide belt loops are normally used in the standard utility kilt.
